Yanmar Co., Ltd. is a Japanese diesel engine manufacturer which was founded in Osaka, Japan in 1912. Yanmar manufactures and sells engines used in a wide range of applications, including seagoing vessels, pleasure boats, construction equipment, agricultural equipment and generator sets. It also manufactures and sells agricultural equipment, construction equipment, climate control systems, aqua-farming systems, in addition to providing a range of remote monitoring services.
Notably, in 1933 Yanmar produced the world’s first practical, small diesel engine and in 1992 they produced their 10 millionth diesel engine.
Often considered a reliable and trustworthy brand of marine diesel engine, Yanmar units have been fitted as standard equipment in a wide variety of sailboats.

Yanmar engines are supplied coated with a dark grey paint. This is a proprietary Yanmar color, and a spray can is available as an OEM part, but the RAL code closest to that of Yanmar Grey is 7480. If you provide your local auto shop with the RAL code, they can usually get you a can of paint in that color.
