Been recommissioning a 1GM engine. Installed a new starter motor and alternator. Trying to re wire it but buzzer and diodes on the panel are all disconnected as is the wire from the glow plug/heater element. Am I right in thinking that, if correctly wired, turning the ignition key triggers the glow plug whilst the buzzer sounds and then hitting the start button cuts the current to the glow plug, stops the buzzer and activates the starter motor? Where does the glow plug connect to? Totally ignorant on this and having to start from scratch making sense of wiring diagram.
Pretty sure the 1GM doesn’t have a glow plug – that’s why you can hand crank them when the batteries are drained. The buzzer stops when the oil pressure builds up – the buzzer is the oil pressure warning (and other warnings such as over heating). The wire that you are assuming to be the glow plug supply is probably a sensor output.
