I bought a rebuilt n engine ( 3GMD) 2 yrs ago and I have put on about 70 hours on it
This last year I have been having a cold start problem I have to continue to crank it to get it to start Usually 4 to 5 times for 15 seconds each time. Once it is started and go out sailing it starts very quickly for the rest of the day The problem is after it sits for a day
Any chance that this is a fuel supply problem? Possible that air is getting into the low pressure side and the supply hose is slowly filling with air which needs to be purged before the engine will start. I would make sure that there are no diesel leaks and that everything is sufficiently tight in the fuel feed path.
